Today was Cooper's last day of Pre-School. Here he is with Teacher Claudia. He just loves Claudia and I think he is going to miss her tons over the summer! Every day when he gets to school after he hangs up his back pack he runs into the room and makes a b-line to Claudia to give her a hug. I can tell she just loves how much he adores her. One time she slipped and said Cooper was her favorite and then said oops I am not suppose to have favorites! Cooper's speech is coming along he can basically say anything you tell him to say or he at least tries. He has to learn to be able to spontaneously say words in sentences. A work in progress. You will never know how much it means to hear a child say a word or speak in sentences until you have a child with a speech disorder. When Cason says a word we are just in amazement, like how did you just say that?

i so know what you mean..kai has a speech disorder too. it is so hard and we are so grateful for every little word and sentence he says. kai is doing awesome now..he has mastered all his words and can do sentences pretty well. now he is struggling with pronouncing his words. sometimes it can be really frustrating..we have had so many people try and tell he has autism just because he is behind on his speech. when you have a child with a speech delay, they are behind in other things as well because there is a communication barrier. i hate it when people are quick to judge and try and diagnose..i just want them to see how great he is and love him just the way he is. before we know it they will be graduated from high school and on their missions and we can look back and just sigh...right?
YaY for Cooper!! My sis had speech problems so I know how hard it can be but consistency is key!! He's gonna do fine!
That is awesome that he has such a special teacher. Having a good first experience is soooo great for you AND him.
Before you know it, he'll be talking your ear off!
